Winter holidays in Montenegro

Montenegro is beautiful not only in summer but also in winter. It is always sunny here and there is no place for bad mood on the slopes of the Black mountain. For the last several years Montenegro has been positioning itself as a promising mountain-skiing centre. Its good location and visa-free regime work miracles. In a couple of hours after boarding a plane you will be mountain-skiing or snowboarding down a slope.

There are two main skiing resorts: Zablyak situated on the down hill of a mountain chain Durmitor and Kolashin which is on the mountain Belasitca. Both of them are on the territory of national parks where you can not only ski but admire the mountains and rare plants of Montenegro. You can get to Zablyak by car while Kolashin is situated on the rail road (Bar-Beograd) and is considered to be more available for tourists. However, the distances in Montenegro are not big and you can get to any point quickly and easily.

The main benefit of all Montenegrin skiing resorts is the lack of wind and dangerous stones under the snow.

Modern elevators will get you to the top of the skiing track. Professionals visit the country with their own equipment while those who ski from time to time or the beginners can rent all the necessary things at the resorts.

Competitions for mountain skiers and snowboarders are held annually.

Less steep and simpler tracks are developed for children.

In the evening you can have a glass of mulled wine and eat delicious fried meat in a cosy bar or restaurant.

For those who prefer cross-country skiing there are tracks of different length- for the beginners and professionals.
